Woodford Humane Society Summer Gala

Earlier this month, I was fortunate enough to be invited by the one and only Marie Pullen of Bluegrassblog to the Woodford Humane Society Summer Gala. Our table was funded by Representative Joe Graviss of the Joe and Debbie Graviss Foundation.

Every year, the Woodford Humane Society throws this amazing gala to raise funds for animals in the county who are in need of adoption, medications and so much more. This year, the gala took place in the Entertainment center at Keene Barn located in the Keeneland Race Track.

A couple of other amazing Kentucky Bloggers were invited to this event too. I decided to drive separately because I was just heading back from Eckert’s Orchard for a collaboration project.

When I arrived at the venue, I was welcomed by an amazing team of valets who took my car and gave me a ticket. This was complimentary of our host. As I entered the building, I ran into Porscha who was actually lost while trying to find the venue. She coincidentally saw me driving and trailed me to the right building.

For those of you that have not been to Keeneland, it is so difficult finding the right building if you use a GPS. My advice, ditch the GPS once you get into Kenneland and use the directions they have there.

Walking into the building, we had to check-in at the stations stacked up with volunteers who were eager and happy to help us. We checked in, got our complimentary drink tickets and went right in to meet the rest of the group.

We walked past the silent auction items which were absolutely amazing to look at. Once we were in, I entered a raffle to win a .52 carat diamond from one of the sponsors (St. John & Meyers) by buying a glass of champagne. Every purchase went directly to help the beautiful fur babies of course.

The tables and centerpieces were just beautiful. And do not get me started on the Hors d’oeuvres, the cocktails, and the delicious food. The silent auction took place online while the other big-ticket items were auctioned live. Make sure you check out my Instagram for more pictures and videos of the event = Aishadaobi.

After the auction, drinking, and eating. Porscha and I opened up the dance floor and everyone danced the night away.

This event was absolutely amazing and I already cannot wait for the next one in 2020. I know a lot of you are looking for ways to help the fur babies before then.
