How I Am Staying Organized in 2019

How I Am Staying Organized in 2019

New Year, New Me?

I do not know what it is about the New Year but it feels like a clean slate. It is another opportunity to start over (even though it is basically just another day). We all have resolutions for our everyday lives, businesses etc.

We all need a way to stay on top of things. If you know me, you know how much I love organizing, planning, executing and so on.

This year, I am trying to take my blogging and social media seriously. I am hoping to stay consistent, plan ahead and actually execute the plans. To do this, I bought a planner, a journal, some pretty colourful pens, pencils, and some other knick-knacks.

I do not have a specific brand where I purchase my planners and journals. I just walk into TJ Maxx and pick up a $6 planner and journal. At the end of the day, a certain type of planner or journal will not keep you organized. It all comes down to how you use it.

The plan is to create a monthly & weekly vision for my life. Here is how I plan on doing that.

What is in my Purse?

List all the areas of your life you want to work on!

It is very important to choose which areas of your life you want to work on. It could be faith, health, and wellness, career etc. For this blog post, I am going to cover only one aspect of my life I am working on. Which is, Social Media and Blogging.

Plan your Yearly Goals + Visions.

This is the part where you breakdown your goals. If your planner has a spot for this, use that but for me, I write these down in my journal.

  1. Social Media Goals: This is where I write how many followers I hope to have by the end of the year. How many times I hope to post each week. You can add any other social media goal you would like to here.
  2. Blog Goals: And this is the section where you write how many collabs you would like to have. How many page views you would like to reach per month. Anything and everything you would like to achieve, you wite here.

Remember, I am personally only writing about my blogging and social media goals. You can write anything you want. From traveling goals, health & fitness goals etc. I love writing my goals down because it gives me a sense of accomplishment to cross them out. It also helps to keep me accountable.

Monthly & Weekly Vision

I write down all the topics that I would love to write about in the notes section of my planner. Then, I choose due dates for my blog posts. For me, Its Wednesday at 1:30pm. Every Wednesday, I would like to publish a new blog post.

On the last Sunday of the month, I go through the topics. I plan them across all the Wednesdays in the month. I also plan my social media posts to every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of the week.

And there you have it, this is how I am hoping to stay productive in 2019. It is very easy to make all these plans. Accomplishing them, on the other hand, is where the difficulty comes in. I am already behind because I was supposed to have this blog post done this weekend. However, it is currently 1 pm and I am just putting in the finishing touches.

  1. I love my planner! Like you, I jotted down 2019 goals and then wrote down how I’ll work towards those at the beginning of each month with smaller goals.

    1. That is great. Good luck this year! I hope you are able to achieve all your goals.

  2. Great tips!! I’m really trying to make this my super planed year haha. Thanks for sharing this!

    1. Haha you are welcome. Glad it could help!

  3. Goals are so important! I create goals for everything in my life. Not only is it a great way of basically making a to-do list, but it also has made such a difference when it comes to my accountability. I try and create SMART goals so that I can really measure my success and progress with them.

    1. You are totally right! It definitely keeps me accountable. What are SMART goals if you dont mind me asking?

  4. Great tips! I’m really trying to be more organized with my blog this year. I have a bazillion drafts going at all times so knowing where they stand and what still needs to be done is a big headache without some planning to go along with it!

    1. Glad you liked the tips. I think that is something we bloggers struggle with. We have so many ideas in our heads and we need a good system to put it together.

  5. I find that writing goals down on a physical piece of paper really helps me. For some reason (to me) its not the same as writing it on my phone or on the computer. Having a notebook with lists is everything!

    1. Same here. I love having it physically written down rather than putting it in my phone!

  6. Great post! I plan to write my blog posts ahead of time more often!

    1. Thank you! Good luck with that. I promise you will definitely see a difference!

  7. Having deadlines for blog posts is definitely a great idea to keep yourself organized and accountable. I’m going to try that this month

    1. I am glad you will be trying it out. It really does make a difference!
